Travel Florida
Florida is synonymous with travel and vacations and fun. At least this is what outsiders think of Florida and to have been there is something one brags about for years to come. It matters not that you only spent an hour or two years agp in the northern panhandle region while visiting grandma in South Georgia, you've been there and that's what counts. To have scooped up a handful of Florida's dirt and carried it all the way back to Michigan in your jeans is no small feat for a five year old.You are older now and are planning your second trip to Florida with a wife and two pre-schoolers. Where will you go? Georgia will be bypassed. Grandma moved back north before she passed on and Georgia for you is a laughing mother who asked, where did this red dirt come from?
Disney Land, near Orlando, will be touched on briefly. You will save a real vacation there for your third Florida visit in another few years. You will want the children to be old enough to enjoy the experience. The two week itinerary as it now is written will be to casually tour the state un-mapped. The twins boys at age five are seasoned travelers and will have no problem sleeping in a different motel every night. In fact they will love it.
Saint Augustine is a must. You are a writer and have wanted to see for yourself the oldest European city in the United States. Of Special importance is old buildings and their quaint churches. And just think, the legendary Ponce de Leon even visited stayed there while on his journey to find the fountain of youth. The Palm Beach area, Miami, the everglades and yes, the Gulf coast and then north to home will be it.
